2. The way to achieve sun-kissed summer colour this season is with the Balayage technique, a European paint-on colouring method. It creates worn-in, sun-kissed, highlights that mimic the way the sun lightens your hair. It adds masses of beachy texture and complements any style.
3. Humidity fills hair with moisture, forcing the cuticle to bulge, which causes that fuzzy look. Unruly, frizzy hair can also be caused by a lack of moisture. After using a good moisturising shampoo and conditioner, apply a leave-in product, working it through damp - hair from ends to roots. Next take chunky sections all over and twist hair loosely; this will give you control, bounce and definition while adding much needed moisture. To fight the frizz after washing and conditioning your hair rinse it in cool water. The cool water closes the cuticle and enhances the shape of your curl, making your hair look shinier.
4. Sun exposure can dry your hair out, especially chemically treated hair. Invest in a great shampoo and conditioner that contains UV filters. When heading to the beach or spending any time in the sun, spray your hair with a lightweight, leave-in conditioner that contains UV filters. Slick it into a ponytail with a low side part and you'll not only look sexy and fresh, you'll be protecting your hair from colour fade and UV rays.
5. Mix your foundation with an illuminating product for a sheer, glowing base. Or, opt for a light foundation or tinted moisturiser that contains illuminating spheres.
6. A light dusting of powder before you go out will control any shine and blotting papers will keep the excess shine under control.
7. Cream blush Powders tend to cake in the heat, while cream blushers blend easily and look more like your skin. Choose rose or coral shade to brighten and give you a healthy glow.
8. You cant go past Nars Laguna bronzing powder for an all-over bronze. Use a large powder brush and gradually build up the intensity.
9. In summer, cream eyeshadows tend to crease in the eye so opt for a light dusting of shimmery, powder eyeshadow on the lids for definition. To open the eye, curl your lashes and apply a few strokes of mascara.
10. Use a sheer, moisturising lipgloss with a hint of rose or coral. Remember, the stickier the gloss, the more drying on the lips.
